Well keep what your doing and show you have passion and that's all you need. Often it's not completely about your skill to get into the industry. A lot can be your personality,being a team player and being in the right place at the right time. Go to lots of game developer events! Good chance to meet developers and in the evening when they are wasted, blag jobs off em ;) hehehe

My course was design in general, first year we did everything from concept art, 3d modelling texture work, rigging animation, sound music, management, marketing c++ coding, design etc etc. Then final year we actually made a game.Which has been surprisingly successful ^_^ Far Cry mod, http://www.moddb.com/mods/7932/first-contact-planetfall



I was Art Director and did all the concept art, animation, some textures, sound effects and music and some design. Now i'm specializing in animation for games whilst i work for a small games comp doing concept art. Ideal cos they are my two fave areas. It's the most rewarding thing to do, don't you agree? Combines EVERY form of art you can possibly think of ^_^
