Getting a quite a few fake sign-ups

I know this has always been an issue, but we're getting quite a lot of fake sign-ups on the site, and people just joining to advertise something, and then never coming back.
Not much of a problem, but it's just a bit annoying for the community.
Examples:
http://pwned.com/israeurner/ -- some footwear or something

http://pwned.com/accountingperth/ -- an accounting firm in Australia

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to how to deal with these people. Delete their accounts? Find some way of deterring them on sign up? Maybe start forcing people to add games to their profile on sign up, or change their display picture or something?

I don't know, just throwing things out there.
Anyone have any views on this?

On a side note, on signing up, should their be reminders at the top of the page like

Click here to add a bit about yourself.

Maybe could be in a little box that drops down, similar to the notifications box, but it's automatically there, and you have to do something to get rid of it, either follow a link, or click a little X or something.
Just thought id might be an idea to help people get started when they first sign up, because looking at new profile, most people make their account, then don't do a thing with it. Maybe they just don't know how. I know tutorials have been mentioned, but a little reminder on top of the page might be nice. Just something to consider trying.

We have something similar planned, we just haven't flushed out the idea/design yet

why not just shut down those fake accounts since they are not in use anymore

do we have anywhere to report profiles to admins?
e.g. under age users, spam profiles, illegal profile content etc.

he means like an email upon sign up. so when you sign up you have to click activate to use the site. to make sure youre real.
