Gamestop is running a 50% trade-in bonus all on games traded in until June 12th. Most gamers would prefer to buy their games on Amazon, wait for a price drop, or get them from a service such as Goozex. But a deal like this could have its advantages to the savy gamer, turned consumer.
Considering an extra 50% on trade-in values for all games, it might be time to dump some of the older 360, PS3, and Wii games to get some of the great games coming out this month. This extra 50% trade in could go a long way to helping cash strapped gamers acquire such games as Duke Nukem Forever, Red Faction Armageddon, inFamous 2, and/or Dungeon Siege III. What about the games from April/May? By now they have dropped in price, Portal 2, LA Noire, and a few others.
Better yet use the extra credit and dive into the 360/PS33/Wii/PS2/DS/PSP bargain bin and try to pick up games like Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, GTA: Chinatown Wars, Madworld, Fallout 3, or any other game that is typically more then 3 years old or that has dropped below $20. I think I'll be saving the extra trade in credit for the Fall releases like Uncharted 3, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and Resistance 3. But who knows there are still a lot of excellent PS2 games that I could get for next to nothing that I have never played. In the end its a decent promotion that may benefit gamers depending on what they are looking for. See Gamestop's Website for details on the deal.
