Achievements for the Xbox 360 are a big part of gaming for some
people. Whether it is for their gamerscore, or just to see if they can
unlock them. People are proud of their achievements.
Game Developers choose what you are to accomplish in order to obtain
the achievement. Achievements vary in what you need to do and usually
are worth obtaining. But sometimes you really have to wonder. 'Why on
earth would they have made that achievement?'
For example, Super...

Loading Error. Freezing. Three Rings of Death. Just a few errors we face while playing our video game systems. With so many new technologies, why is it that we have more problems?? This week I had the dreaded error for Xbox 360. I turned on my system to play, and behold 3 red rings. Yuck. I know I have the three year warranty to get it fixed. So yes, I do get it back. However, it got me thinking. What happened to the durability of systems?
I remember my first system, the origina...

The Wavebird. The classic Wii Controller. Just two examples of how Nintendo has had to deal with lawsuits over patent infringements. But it doesn't stop there. Nintendo now faces their biggest lawsuit yet. This time, it's for the Wii system. The reason? Yet again, infringement of patents.
How is it that Nintendo does not see this before marketing the product. Do they not check to make sure they have patents on their products prior to releasing them? Nintendo is not some small company...

Whether you're a Gamerscore Whore, or just like your bragging rights, achievements are a part of gaming. Some gamers don't care, while others make it a big part of their gaming experience. People strive to be the best, and it is only natural as a gamer to try to be the best. For some, that is to get all achievement they can. But what has happened to the achievements?
When the Xbox 360 first brought out the achievement system, it was an instant success. Gamers love it. But lately, I really...

The ESRB rating system designed to help rate video games in a manor to show whom the game is age appropriate for. So why do so many people ignore this. I see so many people buy M rated games for children, even as young as 4. Then when something goes wrong it's the video games fault.
I'm so sick of people blaming or using video games as an excuse for why the person has done something. Many of you may have read the news article I posted about how a 19 year old blamed GTA IV for why he murde...

Girls in Gaming. It's great. I love seeing more and more females joining up in a male dominated area. But lately I've also seen many girls that are giving the rest of us a bad name.
There are too many females that are joining the gaming community to talk about women's rights. But during a game is not the place for it. Nobody wants to be hassled with that during a game. People get online to play, not to argue about whether a game is politically correct or how a female character is giving ...

I don't know about all girl gamers, but I receive comments all the time about how I do not represent the Girl Gamer population correctly. They base this comment on the fact that I prefer to play FPS or Racing games rather than the Imagine, Petz series, or other games generated to push towards girls.
Since when did being a "Girl Gamer" mean you have to only play certain games. I see many people play different genres all the time. No, you won't see me discuss Imagine Fashion Designer or other ...

Since my last article on the Gamerscore Correction program, many gamers have been publicly branded cheaters in the Xbox Community. This got me thinking.
The Gamerscore Correction program only goes after people who use external means to unlock achievements. Basically the gamers who have never played the game, but still get the achievements. But what about other forms of cheating? For example, glitches or other forms of weakness that games have, even though most gamers do not see this as a...

I am around other gamers constantly, and many questions are always
brought up to me. But the two I hear the most are "When will the price
drop?" and "How soon do you think the next generation consoles will
come out?" Although those are hard to answer it does make you stop and
think.
As for the "When will the price drop?" You have to realize that even
though it is a high price tag, it is a good price. Let"s look at the
PS3 for example, it has a blu-ray player and it costs $399 for a 40G...

Since I am constantly around gamers, I have noticed a new
gaming addiction. The gamerscore.
Since the Xbox 360 was released in 2005, Xbox 360 users have
had the gamerscore. The gamerscore is
an achievement system. You can earn/unlock achievements by doing certain tasks
in each game. For example, beating
campaign mode on normal difficulty in Halo 3 gives you a 125 point
achievement. Each achievement awards
you points towards your gamerscore. For
some users this gives a new sense of...
