My fellow Pwned friends, it is official! Pwned.com is proud to announce that we are coming out of Beta this January 1st 2009. It's been a very long first year for us, as we also celebrate our 1 year anniversary today. In that time, we have added many new features and improvements to Pwned, attended many expos and conferences, and reached over 10,000 members.
With us coming out of beta, members will now be allowed to redeem the Pwned Points they accumulate by using the site. On top of that, we ...Tags: pwned, beta, upgrade, points

The Guys at LoadingReadyRun are doing it again. They are playing the infamous Desert Bus game as long as they can for charity.
Supported by Geoff from Pure Pwnage, Felicia Day from "The Guild", Will Wheaton from Star Trek The Next Generation, and Tycho from Penny-Arcade the boys (and some girls I'm assuming) are playing the game Desert Bud for as long as they can. The more you donate the longer they play the mind numbing game.
At the time of writing they have managed to raise nearly 60 ...Tags: LoadingReadyRun, Charity, Desert Bus

"SACK IT TO ME"...Weekly Answers to the LBP Community's Questions
As has been the buzz around the net and the PS Forum boards, moderation on user created levels has been out of control on the LBP servers. Like crazy to the point where some levels that have no offensive materials or copy written materials have been removed. With no explanation as well. To me this is really hampering one of the best features of this game.
Well, last night, Sony came out on this topic in their official blog. ...Tags: LittleBigPlanet, PS3, Sony, PlayAsia

True Games & Petroglyph Announce Mytheon - An Innovative New Online Action Strategy Game
Like mythology? Like real-time strategies? Like online games? Well looks like the great minds at Petroglyph and True Games will be hooking you up with all three, while trying out the micro-transaction pricing plan set up to boot. What's that, some might be thinking? Well it means that it will be free to play online, but if you want special things or special benefits, you will need to shell out a s...Tags: RTS, Online Games, True Games, Petroglyph, Mythology

Racing titles are ever-evolving. With the intoduction of the open world to the genre, it has seemed that subsequent titles especially after Burnout Paradise have followed suit. While Burnout Paradise was a glowing example of the open world mechanic done right, many of the games it has inspired have been less-than-stellar entries to their respective franchises. The latest evidence of this is Need for Speed Underground. While it aspires to be a “thrilling”, open exercise in evading the cops a...Tags: need for speed undercover, racers, 360

Since the days of the original
PlayStation, the holy trinity of Sony exclusive developers, Insomniac Games,
Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch have always worked hard to produce amazing,
wholly original content for the various Sony consoles. Today it was first
revealed by Game Informer that Naughty Dog, creators of Crash Bandicoot and Jak
& Daxter are working on a follow-up to their hugely
popular PS3 title Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. The sequel titled Uncharted 2:

Every game has a following, with some more fanatical than others. A group of Half-Life fans have taken it upon themselves to fully remake Half-life to run on the Source Engine.
Black Mesa : Source as it is to be known combines the deep, rich story of the original with graphics that take full advantage of the Source Engine. Custom, High-resolution textures, custom models, detailed environments all aim to create to ultimate immersive half-life experience (Yes the Crowbar still looks cool)

Over in Japan, a super rare Famicom (NES) title has sold at auction for over ¥401,010, which converts to roughly $4,250. The title of said game is Kikenbutsu no Yasashii Butsuri to Kagaku, or “The Tender Physics & Science of Explosive Materials”. While it sounds like it could possibly be of eroge nature, it sadly is not. It was used in training for employees of Idemitsu Kosan Ltd.and developed by well known publisher Konami.
The auction began at ¥1,000 and quickly escal...Tags: rare, nes, famicom, japan, auction

Turns out Harmonix is giving us Nine new songs before the week is out.
There are various singles from various bands (Unfortunatly Two are from the Nickelodeon band The Naked Brothers). These songs apparentley cast a wide net over different ages, genres, language, demographic and pricing structure. Along with the obligatory "paid for" tracks from aritsts like Children of Bodom, Finley,Platero y Tu, Squeeze, Tokio Hotel and the All-American Rejects there is a free track from Miranda Cosgrove cal...Tags: Rock Band, Music, Rythym Games, Harmonix, DLC

With Guitar Hero and Rock band taking a huge command over the market, one would expect Konami's first stab at the U.S. market with a Band music game would be successful. Hell, they are the creators of the genre in the first place, and have always done it right. Unfortunately with Rock Revolution, this is not the case. Konami fails to take their success at Rhythm games to the next plateau or even the same level as its competitors. The multiple missteps in Rock Revolution range in various capacit...Tags: rock, revolution, rhythm, review, xbox, 360, konami

Dungeon Crawler Hack & Slash RPG games are starting to become a
regular genre on the Nintendo DS, so does Aksys Games' set itself apart
with From The Abyss? Unfortunately the game doesn't do much to stand
out amongst its peers, but it is still a fun time for J-RPG fans. From
The Abyss takes place in Rubenhaut where the kingdom has been overrun
by monsters flowing through the Abyss Gate. You choose your hero from
four possible choices, two male and two female, and then answer a short

Bound and helpless in a tiny hut surrounded by fierce Japanese soldiers, you watch. You watch as a fellow soldier is grilled for information by a cigar-smoking general who would give up his own life for his Emperor. When your Marine brethren won’t give in to their relentless torture, he receives a searing hot coal to the face. As he spews blood all of the face of his interrogator, his life is quickly ended by a violent slashing of his throat. All you can do is look on in horror as you realize...Tags: Treyarch, 360, Call of Duty: World at War

As of today, Bungie announced that Halo 3: Recon will now be known as Halo 3: ODST, meaning Oribtal Drop Shock Trooper, the center character for the game.
"If you recall, this is our recently announced stand-alone extension to Halo 3 that features an all new campaign played from the perspective of an ODST in the heart of a Covenant occupied New Mombasa. In addition to sleuthing around the city and piecing together the details surrounding your squad's whereabouts, the game wil...Tags: Halo 3 ODST

The Worlds Collide
This game has been a huge one on a lot of people's radars since it was first announced. It has been looked to as a way to reinvigorate the franchise into what it once was. Trying to help fans forget the films and lack luster games that have been placed out there on the market. Here's what I have to say.
The Premise:
At the end of a great battle against Darkseid and Shao Kahn, each in their own universes, something goes awry and begins the merging of the two universes. ...Tags: Mortal Kombat, DC Universe, Midway, PS3, Review

As evidenced in previous James Bond video games, it’s a pure rush of adrenaline to step into the shoes of the debonair agent. From GoldenEye to Everything or Nothing, the Bond games have usually been faithful recreations of the films or entirely new adventures to embark on. With Quantum of Solace, the newest addition to the Bond game library, the total immersion of being Bond is alive and well. With much owed to the Call of Duty 4 engine, this is a fast-paced, fun FPS with elements of third-p...Tags: 360, quantum of solace, FPS
