Brian / Quiglin
Hi, my name is Brian and I am what you would call a jack-of-all-trades gamer. I know just enough to be dangerous. I'm not the "mvp" of a round in of Team Fortress 2 or Battlefield 2, I'm the guy who scored 5th or 6th out of 12 on your team. I'm the perfect guy to fill in, take one for the team so a push can be made. I switch classes a lotfilling in the blanks where I'm needed. I'm a middle relief pitcher in a sea of starters and closers. Opponents say ZOMG u SUX to which I reply Yeah, I know. You arent insulting me, youre telling me something I already know.
Ive enjoyed Strategy games since I started playing Sim City and Civilization on my parents PC. I loved and 100% completed Herzog Zwei on the GenesisAbsolutely brilliant game. I started a Warcraft II LAN-league on my floor when I was a Resident Assistant in college. But like my experiences, above, I beat the missions on Starcraft, but could never go online and win. Im just too mediocre at it.
I didnt have your average NES childhood. I had an Atari 2600 growing up and my parents would not buy me a Nintendo because I would turn into one of those zombies. My parents have not gotten past video games being toys. My mother said that when we bought my brother a PS3 for Christmas that this was the last time we do this because your brother is getting too old for this. He just had turned 20.
After the Atari 2600, I did PC gaming for a long time until I bought myself a PS2 in 2001. I got a Wii a couple months after launch waiting for 90 minutes outside a Target on a Sunday morningmy girlfriend thought the sunrise over Target was very romantic.
I have spent some time playing my fair share of MMOs. I was a regular on the G4TV forums when I was told that I would totally be addicted to this game to which I replied, I dont get addicted to those things. That was in 2003 and 5 years later I am still a paying member of Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates from Three Rings Design. Great guys and gals working at a great company. I also have an active account in Lord of the Rings Online, which I enjoy but have been vacationing from. I tried WoW but within 90 minutes, I realized it just wasnt for me.
I guess the moral of the story is that it isnt finished yet and this profile is way too long. Check me in the ShoutBox sometime and say hello!
