Doctor Who [L!NK]
My Rating: 8.5 / 10
I'm probably the person who gives the games lowest rating for CoD4. Let me explain myself before I continue with the review here. I love the game. I own it, and play it regularly. But.... herein lies the point, I play the multi-player. I've played through the campaign and I like it a lot but it's not AMAZING. So, here we go.

Gameplay: 8.5
The controls and overall gameplay is what makes this game so easy to get addicted to. Everyone will tell you different, but let's face it. The interface brings you one-touch movements, weapon changes, and inventory changes. Not too mention the most up to date weapon arsenal that we've seen in a game (with the exception of futuristic FPS'). And there is really not much else to say. It's quite simple. The ease of the gameplay, even on the harder difficulties prove to be ease. There is not much to complain on. Maybe when you try to call in for air support and the targeting system is off or is blocked by land obstacles that it normally shouldn't be in real life. Or in multi-player sometimes your grenade attachments don't explode when the force of impact alone would make them? Really not much else. If you're looking for a basic wargame to play, I can't recommend anything other than this.

Story: 8.0
So you try to take advantage of America's current issues in the middle-east by basing the game there. It was awesome to blow through them for a normal patriotic American. But it got old. The story was good the first 3-5 times playing through, but after that and once you've gotten all of your achievements then it's not so much fun. I'm told that a lot of the events are based off true ones. Which, in a way is kind of cool but it's not as action packed as it's brood following (CoD5). It's certainly the less dramatic and more well-mannered sibling in the Call of Duty series, but I could easily point out a lot of improvements from stories heard from veterans who've faught in the Middle-East and have played the game. But like them, I will say, if you're looking to pick up a good war game, this is one to look for. It's still about normal NEW next-gen price of $45-$55 for used or new copies.

Multi-Player: 9.0
Multi-player FPS games grew fantastically over the past few years. For me it was a jump from Goldeneye for the N64 to Call of Duty 3. And from then I moved here to CoD4. You'll learn upon signing into your Xbox Live Gold account that you start at the bottom of the bucket. Lvl 1. Private and you're given a barracks to provide you with a little information on  what you can do during your epic 6 on 6 matches (team death match [there are more game modes]) such as weapon challenges, killer challenges, and more. This is where you'll spend hours upon hours sitting down and just ranting and raving over hour awesome this is to pwn n00bs or just be on a team that doesn't lose. You really grasp the FPS style through this multi-player game and you'll enjoy it until the game breaks... or, you decide to move onto CoD5? But ask yourself this? Why would you stop playing this game to play CoD5? Why not play both? =)

So with an overall rating of 8.5 I really recommend playing, buying, or renting this game. If you want a good multi-player game for online matches or lan parties, this is one to go with for consoles.

CoD 4 is fun to play on Multiplayer with the starting Lv. 1 as a private then working your way all the to be
a General is pretty fun but I preffer to play the single-player (I know I haven't met any real veterans from the real thing) but I like how the action is always tight-packed. And how the moment keeps moving along until the shocking end.

The next thing, the Graphics are smooth and polished as go shoot crazy russians or U.S. marines it has perfect timing for the weapons sounding and the best game graphics of 2008 and it might keep the throne until 2009 unless they make another one

Probably the most flawless first person shooter ever!! The campagin is incredible even though its a bit short. It tells a story right up until the very end and isnt just a mindless war game. Its amazing to look at the graphics are great and bright and crisp.

The range of weapons are great and the diverse types of missions make the single player the most enjoyable first person shooter i have ever played.

The only thing that stop this from getting a ten is the online sometimes.. even thought its the best oline game i have ever played. If you live outside the us your gona get lag at certain times no matter how good your connection is. Its so hard to play when this happens and usualy results in alot of deaths so i tend to turn it off. The introduction of the airstrike and helicopter make it harder and more frustraiting but thats all part of he fun :)

a must have for any gamer any where!

Call Of Duty 4 was the game that popularised the franchise above any other FPS on the 360. With stunning graphics and well written and dramatised campaign - Call Of Duty 4 has it all. Multiplayer mode is arguarbly the best on the console and with ten prestiges to complete - theres no shortcuts to the Gold Cross, Level 55. I would reccomend this game to anyone who likes FPS or games involving wars - or a must for someone who has just brought the Xbox 360 - Terrific game. 9.5/10.
