Storytime … Gather Around

nbsp;
 Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to dress up in
pretty dresses and make believe that she was someone else. Her friends
would love to come over and play with the little girlrsquo;s crowns and
dresses.
ldquo;I want to be the princess today!!rdquo;
ldquo;No, itrsquo;s my turn,rdquo; they would cry.
ldquo;How about we all play that we are princesses,rdquo; her mother laughed.
The little girls skipped, danced, and sang. Four little princesses in their pretty dresses, crowns, and gloves.
As time went by, the little girlrsquo;s
friends stopped coming to play. Other things began to become more
important and their need to feel pretty slowly changed from putting on
tiaras to applying makeup and wearing short skirts. All her friends
began to do their hair and wear heels while the little girl who had the
pretty dresses continued to make believe.

Blizzard Worldwide Invitational - The Recap!

I know it's been over a week since the event but I am just now getting all my pictures off the camera and have the opportunity to sit down and tell you more about this awesome Blizzard event!
nbsp;

nbsp;
The day started with me leaving the hotel and walking down to the event. As I turned the corner I saw a line about two blocks long. This must be the place! I walked past the line - all donned in their Jinx. com attire - and noticed that the demeanor was not what I had expected. During the Blizzcon event in Anaheim I witnessed an excitement I had never seen before. While I know it was nothing compared to the WWI in Korea last year (from what I hear from those who attended) I was really hoping to see Europe a twitter of excitement for the new announcements.

Ladies, are you part of the "in" crowd

Have you grown up feeling a little on the outside? Do you wonder if everyone else feels like you do? Do you spend most of your time enjoying hobbies that others find "odd"?

If so ... YOU may be part of the "IN" crowd.
The more that I meet girls who are interested in the same hobbies as I am, I find myself astounded by how many similarities we all have. This was one of the catalysts for bringing GEN to life. It seemed as though all of my best girl friends were able to relate on a level that others couldn't. We embraced our "geekdom" and found ourselves able to open up and talk about the things that mattered to us.

So, it got me thinking about how many others may be out there feeling "dorky" or "silly" for liking certain things when in all reality, they are probably part of our little circle as well!

Recently, Kotaku ran a story on how Master Chief is rarely seen in public. Granted, we have seen many rip-off's of the infamous war hero. That being said, the Chief is not as much of a hermit as Kotaku seems to think.
See how MC is just like you and I!

Pop Culture Body Art

I have scoured the net and compiled my favorite images of pop-culture related body paint art.

Having already covered Cortana, Ghost in the Shell and Darth Talon I decided to do a little more research and find some of the best body painting work on the web. Not only are the models extremely gorgeous and fit (ONLY wearing a layer of paint mind you) the artists are also extremely talented in their portrayals of these pop-culture characters.

Here is a refresher of the three that GEN has covered previously:
CORTANA
 Ghost in the Shell
 Darth Talon
We now bring you the gallery of body painting masterpieces (click to enlarge photos)

Hey Pwned friends
I recently came across an amazing website that lets you earn money toward a charity of your choice.nbsp; My charity is the Starlight Starbright Foundation - a group that helps terminally ill kids get in a better mindset to fight their illness.
I can earn more points by getting my friends to sign up on the site.nbsp; A portion from all of my points earned gets turned into cash and given to my charity of choice.
I invite you all to sign up and start your own campaign.nbsp; With our social influences, we can make a difference!

The WoW effect

What is it about pixels on a screen that turn lives upside down?
What is the magic that the wizards at Blizzard (oooh.. that rhymed)
cast on 9million Americans to turn an otherwise inconspicuous video
game into a life changing event on a nightly basis?
nbsp;
Like many of you, I have found myself hooked on the euphoria that is
World of Warcraft. As I recently began leveling to catch up to my new
found guild (Cake or Death) I started contemplating the reason behind
why this game has turned so many into gaming addicts.

Letrsquo;s take a step back into reality for a moment. Consider the following scenario:

Hey Pwned.com!
I wanted to sign up and shout out a brief hello to the site.nbsp;nbsp;
Recently, I came across Pwned through some of the GameGirls competing in the GotCast G4 contest with me.nbsp;nbsp; It was actually some negative comments that brought me to the site and, when negativity is your first introduction, you don't always see things beyond that.
During a recent live videocast that I did where I talked about issues in gaming, someone brought up Pwned.com and because of my first experience here, I may have given the site an unfair shake.nbsp; For you Pwned.com member - I am sorry.nbsp; First impressions speak a thousand words but I also can admit when I'm wrong and have come to check out Pwned and learn a little bit more before making my final decisions about it!
So, with that;nbsp; Hello.nbsp; I hope to meet some awesome new friends here and gaming partners.nbsp; I'm
