The Gamer Revolution

Many people know the stereotype that ldquo;pretty girls do not gamerdquo;. We all realize its not true, despite the /b/ tards that still believe that there are no girls on the Internet except for porn. But it seems to be that the ladies of gaming these days put aside their gaming time for makeup and cameras. What is that doing, exactly, for female gamers? A lot of the ladies of today are determined to prove that not all girls who game are ugly, but since when was this a competition? Girl Gaming lately has become a JOKE. Do you not see that the gaming business is NOT based on looks alone? Did Fata1ity get to be the worlds most recognized FPS gamer just by taking pictures of him licking keyboards? I want a change in this. GAMING SHOULD BE BASED ON SKILL AND SKILL ALONE. Girls are already competitive enough about their looks, and lets face it, we all know that the best looking girl gets mor

AWP in CSS, n00b gun

AWP in CSS, n00b gun?
AWP seen here being held by terrorist.
A lot of Counterstrike players have been known, in my experiences, to consider the 1 shot 1 kill sniper rifle in the game to be cheap or a ldquo;n00brdquo; gun. I find this term extremely offensive because I know how much time and practice I put into perfecting my sniping skill in CS. For those of you who do not play Counterstrike: Source, I will do a brief overview on what I am talking about. The AWP in CSS is short for the Artic Warfare Police Sniper Rifle. It is the dreaded ldquo;one shot killrdquo; sniper rifle in the CS series and many people consider it a noobish gun. This gunrsquo;s unfairness was tweaked when Counterstrike: Source was released, which made the gun fairer. Considering the sniper riflersquo;s magazine size, (Despite what ignorant people think, the AW Police does NOT fire .338 Laupa; it actually fires a 7

United States Air Force requests 300 40GB Sony PlayStation 3 Consoles.Looks
like the United States Air Force is looking for some heavy duty
technology and it seems like they have turned to Sony for help. The Air
Force has recently sent in a Request for Proposal to buy 300 Sony
PlayStation 3 consoles from a contractor for a lsquo;research assessmentrsquo; at
a decent price. ldquo;The Air Force Research Laboratory is
conducting a technology assessment of certain cell processors. The
processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market
that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for
this program at an acceptable cost.rdquo;The vendor opportunity solicitation can be found here: http://www.fbo.gov/spg/USAF/AFMC/AFRLRRS/FA8751-08-R-0016/SynopsisP.htmlWhether
the PlayStation 3 consoles are for a giant LAN of COD4 or what they

Addiction to Adrenaline equals Addiciton to Gaming

Addiction to Adrenaline Equals Addiction to Gaming? Video game addiction is becoming more and more of a common thing, yet not many studies are tested to see what exactly causes video game addiction. Some gaming addiction is diagnosed as an impulse control disorder or an addiction to rewards that video games give you. Personally I think video game addiction has a lot to do with adrenaline and endorphin rushes. To be addicted to adrenaline rushes is to engage in ldquo;activities that stimulate the adrenal glands which are responsible for producing a broad spectrum of hormones which cause the stress response, also known as the fight-or-flight response.rdquo; I do not know about you, but when I play some of my favorite games my heart starts pounding, my body shakes, and I get a sense of excitement. All of these feelings can be attributed to adrenaline, which increase endorphin flow. Endorphi

Update on Me

nbsp;
Alot has been going on with me this week. :D
nbsp;
After giving up my amazing job at Gigabits LAN Center when i moved back to my hometown i decided i wanted another job at another LAN center. For those of you who know me, you know that throughout the past 2 years i have worked at LAN centers only. This was important to me because i would not wanna work around anything else but gaming.nbsp;
nbsp;
Since the CyberHub closed after i left for Full Sail i realized i would have to try to get a job at the CyberZone in the Neshaminy Mall, about 20 minutes away from where i live. To be honest this was the last place i wanted to work. ONE: it was in a mall. I HATE malls. TWO: The kids are snobby, rude, and stupid. THREE: The owner of the CyberZone is a creep.nbsp;
nbsp;
When i went to see the owner about a job i was completely turned off. The CyberZone is a 20ft. by 60ft rectangular ro

Culture and Subculture: Internet and Gaming

It
has come to my attention several times since I started gaming that the gaming
culture is no different than the culture that gamers try to exclude from their
lives. Technically the gaming is a subculture of the Internet culture. For
those of you who do not spend hours pouring over a computer keeping up with the
negativity you find over the Internet, this is going to be an eye-opener for
you.
nbsp;
In
recent years the Internet has grown from a household way to keep in touch with
family, to an ignorant way of insulting people without having them to hear your
voice or see you in person. Internet forums and networking sites were meant to
be a way to be in contact with the people you love and miss or give your honest
opinion that might be shared with other people. This is a generally good idea,
but miserable people who live, breathe, and eat drama have turned this
