AWP in CSS, n00b gun?

AWP seen here being held by terrorist.
A lot of Counterstrike players have been known, in my experiences, to consider the 1 shot 1 kill sniper rifle in the game to be cheap or a “n00b” gun. I find this term extremely offensive because I know how much time and practice I put into perfecting my sniping skill in CS.
For those of you who do not play Counterstrike: Source, I will do a brief overview on what I am talking about. The AWP in CSS is short for the Artic Warfare Police Sniper Rifle. It is the dreaded “one shot kill” sniper rifle in the CS series and many people consider it a noobish gun. This gun’s unfairness was tweaked when Counterstrike: Source was released, which made the gun fairer.
Considering the sniper rifle’s magazine size, (Despite what ignorant people think, the AW Police does NOT fire .338 Laupa; it actually fires a 7.62x51mm round (.308). It has a magazine capacity of 5+1 rounds.) making this gun a 1 shot 1 kill is very realistic. Even though everyone believes this gun to truly be a 1 shot 1 kill, it no longer is. From the waist up 1 shot from the AWP will kill you, even if you have armor, but from the waist down (ex: leg shot) will not result in immediate death. Your health will usually be lowered by around 80%.
Along with that, other skills have been added and retouched to make the AWP sniper not so cheap. The simple fact that you have to be standing still to make a precise shot is sometimes unknown to people who are new at the game. Unlike the Steyr Scout which takes 2 shots to kill and you can be moving and unscoped to still make a precise shot.
Many Counterstrike: Source servers have the AWP sniper rifle restricted, which I think is okay for servers dedicated to people new to the game and private fun servers, but it dumb for servers dedicated to clans wanted to compete in CAL matches. CAL is the Cyberathlete Amateur League where clans (teams dedicated to the competition of gaming) compete generally for the fun of it. The reason why I think it is dumb for clans to restrict the AWP in their public servers is because that does not give them any practice to evade or use the AWP. They simply ignore the weapon and go to compete and get rick rolled by the clan/team that uses the gun everyday.
More than anything to be good at the AWP sniper rifle takes many, many hours of practice. I know I put in over 500 hours dedicated to making my AWP skills usable in matches. When you think about it, anyone new to Counterstrike can pick up ANY gun and possibly be good with it. I think all of the guns in Counterstrike are equal; it’s the players that determine the “n00bishness”.

The AWP isn't a "noob gun" any more than any other gun, like has been said. In a competitive setting, it's important to have someone good with the AWP holding an area of the map down, but you likely won't see full teams running AWP because it's too expensive and too risky to drop for the other team.
The only time the gun feels noobish, to me, is on pub servers that run $16k starting and don't restrict it. The entire game becomes an AWPfest, which is less like a real game of CS and more like playing DM - it can be fun, but not The Real Thing™. ;)
I have no problem with the AWP on an $800 starting server with serious players, though.
