WATCH ME BREAK A WORLD RECORD
Posted by Clov3r (admin-face) on 04/06/2008 4:38pm

19 Bumps

Mood: Sad cause Aaron beat me to it. :/

Well as many of us know, I'm a regular at the Dallas based anime convention A-kon. A-Kon, for those of you who don't know, is also the lonest running Anime Convention in America. It's one of the largest too. Recently the people over at A-KON anounced incredible news. A-kon is going to attempt to break The Guinness Book record for most  'Most Video Game Costumes in One Place'. Now as a regular at A-kon I can assure you that we've broken that record yearly.  Last year A-KON saw an estimated of 10,000 plus ppl nerding it up at the Adams Mark hotel in Dallas. Of those, the majority cosplayed. So it's safe to say that A-KON will break the record.  Final Fantasy cosplays alone was enough to win it 3 times over.

So if you are planning to attend the event this year, plan a videogame related costume!!! Let's make it impossible for someone else to beat.

I will be there in full Guilty Gear X2 apparel.

Dizzy4tw ^^

I may actually be able to make this event, school will be over, and I don't work on most of the days of the event.

I live in Austin, but it's only a 3 hour drive give or take.

pics or it didn't happen...

Errrrrrrm so Texas Pwned.com Member Meet-Up at A-Kon? =]

DT, Dale, Clov3r, Mofo.. I'll hopefully see you guys there.

I don't know if I can do that.

I can easily make a Terry Bogart cosplay, but I don't know if I can make it down to Texas from Chicago, IL. when I have a job and ACEN two weeks before that. If any one from the Chicago area is going to A-Kon, I'll go, but, I'm going to need a lot of planning set up.

I'd like to help, really I would.

Sweet! Riot let me know if y'all make it out!! I can't wait to meet you and your bf! ^___^

I'm working it out to try and go.. already planning costumes for me and my bf =]

Damn I wish I could go!! ><

But good luck! X33

Awesome Clover, good luck with that!

Sounds like fun! :D

yeah definitely.

The anime convention takes place on May 31st - June 2nd at the Adams Mark (soon to be Sharritans) hotel in Dallas, Texas.

You can register for the convention online @ A-KON.COM

If you register soon, it's only $45 for tickets, but the middle of this month it'll be going up again.

A-KON Takes place at the convention center there, which is 3 stories tall, with tons of big rooms and booths and concerts. You can buy all kinds of amazing stuff, including anime, sci-fi toys, Yuri, Yaoi, Furry, import dvds and gosh just tons of amazing things. Theres usually some rooms for dice and rpg style games. As well as 2-3 separate rooms for viewing anime, one reserved for H-FEST (Saturday nights = 18+ Nights)

and Rocky Horror Picture Show usually plays in there on Friday nights (with crew, props and all).

Versailles and Budo Grape are playing this year, and there's plenty of guests.

Also theres a Jpop room in the hotel side of the place with Jpop videos playing and Karaokee.

Really it's just an amazing event - with plenty to seem buy and do. Definitely have to check it out at least once.

Clov3r!!! Give me as many details as you can and I would totally love to go!!
