PLEASE REPOST

Photobucket

In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took
a dog from the street,
tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved
him to death.

Photobucket

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of
the exhibition have
watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based
on the dog's agony,
until eventually he died.

Photobucket

Does it look like art to you?

Photobucket

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts
Biennial of the Central
American decided that the 'installation' was
actually art, so that
Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat
his cruel action for the
biennial of 2008.

Photobucket

PLEASE HELP STOP HIM.

It takes a second to help put a stop to animal abuse.

if i were you id read more into this, from articles in the newspaper and magizines that ive read, he didn't kill the dog, he only had it tied up during work hours, after work it would return home with him and was fed. At the end he let it go.

The other thing is, his reason for doing this is that every day in costa rica (thats where the artist is from) thousands of homeless dogs roam the streets and die. No one notices and no one cares. But he claimed that if he brought one in and showed every one it would bring awareness to the problems that were appearing in the streets. He is auctually doing something good, rather than causing some thing bad like these blogs are doing.

So like i said read into this because this blog is mainly something that has been floating around myspace and most likely twisted the facts.

I found this when i googled his name....

http://thepetextraordinarium.blogspot.com/2008/03/starving-dog-exhibit-reported-as-hoax.html

dunno if it's a hoax or not, but still I think the way he approached the issue is totally idiotic.

i KNEW i shoulda used my own photobucket >:(

So fuckin sad

Oh yeah, and the link is disabled. It's the msp link that myspace uses to prevent spam. If you have the original link to the petition please post it!

I saw this before without the photos and but the photos are so heartbreaking. Anything that involves harming a living being is NOT art. Lots of crazy things are art... but pain and death isn't. Thanks for posting.

this guy should die a very slow and painful death

i tried to sign the petition and it tok me too a myspace page that said almost got phised and the webpage was deleted because it was uploading viruses.....

This guy is one sick SOB they should do to him what he did to that poor dog!!!!

who the fuck does this guy think he is?? this isn't even petition shit, it's fucking loaded gun shit...

I hate this :-(

/tear

Why the fuck is this thing even being petitioned? It shouldn't have to be petitioned, this is an illegal act, cruelty to animals, and Geniva torture to wildlife and animals. This in no way should be accepted as art, or something to petition, the guy should be arrested, and the animal set free.

That's absolutely digusting :(

wtf....im speechless

omg that is horrible. Why is PETA not on this and instead bothering with stupid celebs?

Signed & Bumped *facepalm* So disgusting..

That's horrible.

As sick and cruel as dog fighting.

Signed&bumped!

Sick fuck.

isn't it amazing what some people can get away with...

yeah i know, use neil's link

P.S. The link doesn't work

WHAT KIM SAID!

Makes me ashamed to call myself an artist :/

Yeah, I signed to petition this morning... someone should tie that artist to a rope an starve him to death... that would be art to me... poor doggy :(

That's not art. Its animal cruelty. Its amazing that the Visual Arts place is still open after that. They took part in the animal cruelty by allowing that so called "artist" to do that in the first place.

omg i remember posting this on the SB like maybe a month or so ago cause my rl friend sent it in a e-mail so i already signed the petition

SO ANYONE WHO HASN'T DO SIIIGN IT NOW!!!! (sorry but the caps were needed)
