Why be liberal?
Posted by liberalpolitics on 08/16/2008 7:45pm

3 Bumps

Mood: excited

Why be liberal? Being liberal means you fight for universal healthcare, research for technology and alternative fuels, abortion (it is a womens right), steamcell research, no offshore drilling, new energys, fight for change, lower taxes, fight for the middle class, and stop unnessisary programs such as wars and research. These are just few liberal ideas that make sense. So next time your voting think of these reasons ans vote for a democrat. It just makes sense.

Trust me, I'm about as leftist as you can get but you need a better way of getting your point across... You write this silly little list and provide no data or statistics to back it up.

And to everyone whining about not liking the candidates there's this thing called a vote of no confidence. And third parties and independent runners. They might not win, but at least you did your part in being heard. Sitting at home and bitching about how the last election that you didn't even bother to vote in turned out sounds kinda lame.

i love you a lot.

This is a society of gamers. If people on here are interested in politics, I'm sure they also belong to website communities dedicated to that. Not saying you shouldn't post this stuff here...just saying maybe the liberal love-fest is best kept away from people who are here for gaming.

I'm not voting. Besides the fact that the public has never decided the election, AND besides the fact that the great(sarcastic)state of IN always gives its electoral votes to the republican by default, Each candidate is awful. They are both admitted orange pudding popsphobes, both plan to use their religious stance to make and pass law and from what i've seen (and from talking to Obama), both are about as smart as a bucket of cat hair.
Can't do it this year... things like this are what make people believe in 2012....

I really wish that were true. If we had any real say, why can't we vote for someone else?? why are these the best two candidates?? a walking corpse, and a brainless but charismatic guy??

we have a say in the election

I vote McCain for president just because I keep accidently calling him McClane

MAKES SENSE? wtf garbage is that? sure lets become soviet russia like FDR planned THAT makes sense. im a constitutionalist, i vote for who i believe is going to uphold the basis of our country. not some idiot who believes the gov'ment has the end all say in everything. fuck universal health care. according to the Hippocratic oath all doctors take they are to offer health care free. what happened to that?

vote for who? mcain the damn neo-con? hes no better than hillary or obama. i can communism of fascism. and no we dont have a say, we have an opinion that is SUPPOSED to be viewed upon voting but is not final. look into the electoral college, if we had a say there wouldnt be the "popular vote" and the "actual vote". popular vote is who actually voted what.

why the politics?

haha of course mike had to comment on this one...

rofl! seriously? Universal health care means the Government can now tell you what you can and can put into your body. They can tell you what to eat, that you can't smoke, that you can't drink, because the government and taxes are footing the bill.

Offshore drilling is needed to wane our dependence on foreign oil. Even though alternative and new forms of energy is good, it doesn't happen overnight, so while other forms are being researched and created, offshore drilling will relieve the burden on those currently paying for oil/gas.

Liberals have always raised taxes, no lower them. Classic example in Maryland with our latest Governor. He came in with a Budget Surplus, but started spending like mad, now we have a higher sales tax, a higher income tax, property taxes, and he still won't curb spending.

Fight for the middle class? Liberals only care about the upper class. They keep people in their current economic state and like the seperation. People need to get up and work for what they want, to have personal responsibility and have a sense of pride. Liberals want people to feel that they can't do it themselves and need everyone else to be responsible for them.

War is unfortunately necessary at times in this world. There will never truly be world peace, as no one will ever get along. Military is a must have, so defense spending is always a top priority.

You should check your homework and give better arguements for what you preach, because it's obvious you're a blind idealogue.

Oh and this so called "Fight For Change"... CHANGE WHAT!?!?! I hear change, but there are no specifics. Because nothing is ever changed, it's more political BS wether it's from either side. Stop drinking the kool-aid and wake up to reality.
