Wii Balance Board Controls WoW

I figured it was only a matter of time before it happened, so here it is. The Balance Board has been "hacked" to be used to control World of Warcraft movement. Yes, you read that right. Below is the video that shows it in the works. It starts out with a bit of Google Earth footage, but then they show a gnome running around the game. The movement and camera seem to be all controlled pretty well too.

Now what does this mean? South Park will soon loose the Obese joke for WoW players, if it becomes that popular. :) Granted, they will have the extra geeky jokes still going for them, but no more hot pockets on the belly. Totally jest here, but it is kind of cool to see new tech being used in ways it wasn't originally designed for. I look at it as one more step towards a fully VR or "Holo-Deck" set up for games. Steps toward the future.

WoW Comic Book Graphic Novel

On other WoW news though, There is a new comic for the game getting penned up and ready to go for the Launch of Wrath of the Lich King. It is being handled by the Blizzard team, so it shouldn't be someone else's take on the game world. Should be kind of cool for all those into WoW and such. I'll stick to the Conan stuff for now. Damn the addiction.

World of Warcraft: Ashbringer goes on sale September 10, and should retail for $4 per issue.

Just to state it. The weight loss thing was a slight poke at the fact that Nintendo thinks that it will make ya loose weight. Just thought I'd state that since it's been brought up twice here. :)

Wow, interesting. Reminds me of the dude that hacked in the guitar hero guitar and made it play like a real one. This would make a good controller for a surf game or something, and you do burn more calories standing and moving around than sitting I guess but it's not going to make you lose weight. Neat idea though.

agreed pointless, no one is going to lose weight simply by shifting slightly to the direction you want to move your character. But as you said, it is cool when ppl can take stuff like that and make it into something else. there is an article on gamegirl about someone who made the wiimote into a spray paint can for an urban arts program for the wii

LOL that is so pointless...but cool
