Pokemon Platinum, the third game in the Diamond and Pearl series, was recently released in Japan. During the first days of it's release it sold nearly 1 million units. In one weekend it sold over 963,000 copies, all for the Nintendo DS. This made Pokemon Platinum the fastest selling Nintendo DS game ever. The Pokemon series has a long history of being extremely successful, especially in Japan. The game still has no confirmed released date in America.
