Claims of new Halo 3 campaign experience. Coming January '09???/

The Bungie countdown has ended, and with it releases a new teaser trailer. Set in a futuristic city, you are looking through a camera at various areas when pods drop from the sky. When the cameras are brought back online, you see destruction and damage everywhere. Cut to "Halo 3" and after which the camera itself is hit by a pod, and the video cuts to "Prepare To Drop".

According to Xbox Live Marketplace description, this appears to be a new Halo 3 Campaign Experience. Look for more info as it is released. Video & pictures from the video can be found below.

*UPDATE* A Joystiq reader found a date hidden within the trailer that reads "01/06/09". Could this be a true release date, or a teaser truly teasing us. Will update with info in the near futire

One of the biggest things in this trailer is the art style is sooo different from Halo 3 that you would almost guess that it was going into the marathon game but at the same time they say prepare to drop which is a major quote from the Fall of Reach book of the ODSTs which are nicknamed the Hell Jumpers and the question is why are they attacking what looks to be a human city.

I personally think that they are using this now to introduce Marathon. For those of you who dont know. Marathon is Bungies first game, and is staring two characters that resemble Master Chief and Cortana a little to much. ill make a blog on this later 2nite

I want to say it has something to do with the ending to Halo3 with that dark object in space, it was never shown clear maybe it was a cluster of all these pods heading to earth? or a shit deploying the pods. maybe they find the chief or he finds his own way back and saves the day at the end of the game leaving the assumptions for a new Halo after this expansion pack maybe for the next gen console. I hope Master Chief is found so everyone is like HOMIGOD YOUR ALIVE! =)
