![]() I am from Caspiar, an Island in the Caspian Sea. I've been playing games since I was around 6 years old. The love began with Super Mario World and the Super Nintendo remains my all time favourite console. I have way too much spare time on my hands, but don't really use it for anything particularly great. Most of the time is spent playing games, browsing the internet and recording myself singing random song. Yes. You can hear my singing here. I'm currently working on a bachelor's degree. Started out with IT studies, but realised it wasn't completely my thing, and I've now, more or less, moved completely over to being a language student. I just finished a semester abroad. No, I have no idea what I'll use my Japanese for, but it's an interesting (and ridiculously hilarious) language to work with. I love making new friends, so don't be scared to leave me comments. Game recommendations are also welcomed with open arms. It's relatively new I believe, but it's good. Yeh, console buttons tend to be relatively generic, though the beauty of the keyboard is if you don't like the key setup that's there, you've got an entire board of keys to choose from, so you can just change them around until you feel comfortable but I can see how it would take getting used to, especially transferring from console games to RTSs. Keeping up with the trends can indeed be expensive... I recently upgraded mine after having it for two years, £700 but I think it was worth it, and I have little else to spend it on. I've played Peggle Extreme, the Half Life 2 version, but that's as far as I wish to take it :P. Ocarina of Time has to be my favourite of the series, if not favourite of all games, at least those from my childhood. Had to dash off earlier as I decided to get some sleep in the end so I'm not exhausted now, woo.
Hmmm... that would be intensely annoying... it's one thing being in anticipation of a great end you can't stand to watch and a totally different thing waiting for an end you know isn't coming soon and that by the time it gets there you won't care about. Ah really... Well I may check Monster out then, it's always nice to get a recommendation from someone, as it's so difficult to pick which series to watch next out of the maelstrom of things available. I'd recommend Claymore for casual watching, 26 episodes and pretty good story and animation, it's sort of fantasy violencey with monsters and stuff, hard to describe.
Yeh, it's always nice to strike up interesting conversations with people you've never met :). Though it's knowing where and when things like this go on, as well as having some money for it. Nintendo certainly do have a formidable range of consoles and titles, Zelda being one of the strongest (I rather like Zelda games if you hadn't guessed :D). I favour the PC myself, bought and built by me for my gaming habits, you tend to get a more deep, immersing games on PC I find like, bar some notable exceptions and you can't beat a mouse and keyboard for controls usually. When I do get consoley I go Nintendo though.
Ah right, my first stompy robot one was Gundam Seed, which I quite enjoyed. I couldn't agree more about Elfen Lied, such a brilliant story and wonderful animation, it was one of those animes that I was really sorry to see the end of and that at the end was just left thinking "that was brilliant!". It certainly was short at 14 episodes, but it was amazing, I've never felt such empathy for characters since then especially in such a short period. Yeh, I usually stick to shows around 26 episodes in length, things like Bleach with it's hundreds of episodes just put me off starting it. That sounds lots of fun, I can imagine it would be quite good to go to a proper, large, organised event. What's your chosen gaming platform?
Ah right, same here really, though I have a soft spot for things with big stompy robots in them, probably due to my affinity for Mechwarrior, ooo, Elfen Lied, what did you think of it? FLCL was certainly one of the oddest series that I've ever watched :P a guy sprouting robots from his head who are then attacked by a guitar wielding alien lady. Humours always good, we usually get a good mix at the society.
I've never been to a LAN party before, so it should be interesting, luckily I've got a chum with a car to help me lug my rig there and back :). Do you go in for them much?
It's always a shame to watch something great that you so enjoyed end... especially that feeling you get once the credits roll of what the do I do now exactly... really nasty feeling of emptiness. It's never too late to get back in to anime :D, what sorts did you used to watch?
I've been doing that a little too much myself actually, not sleeping and then missing lectures that is, it's a real pain when you know you have to attend them but having no energy to do so. I've also got a LAN party to go to from 12pm -6pm tomorrow, I have to get up at 10am... shocking I know, so I hope I don't screw that up due to lack of sleep :P.
Ah right, yay, sleep deprivation, all nice and healthy. Norwegian isn't really my strong suit, so I'll have to give that a miss :P. Yeh I get that with games, primarily Zelda games, especially ocarina of time; on the one hand you want to progress and uncover more, but on the other hand you don't want it to finish. Same with some animes for me I find, because you just know that the majority of the characters the series has spent so long getting you attached to are going to die horribly, if it's a good one at least.
Well, it's currently 3.20am :P, this evening I frequented the Reading University Anime Society and much fun was had by all, then came back to my uni room to watch more anime with my chums as well as the anime movie "Spirited Away", thats about it except for a few matches of Team Fortress 2 from then until nowish. How about you?
