Hydroelectric power now provides 10% of our nation’s power today.
It has been decreasing for years because reservoirs are drying up and today scientists are finding new ways to produce energy.
Hydroelectric power is still very important to the nation today.

How much energy could we get from this source?
Hydroelectric power can be used anywhere that has water flow.
It costs a lot of money to build a dam.
That’s why we don’t have as much dams as we could.
There is a lot of water in the U.S.
Our nation could produce 2/5 of energy from hydropower.
Where is it used?
Today it is used in Nevada, on the Colorado River.
It is used here for several reasons:
Water flow is constant here.
Also there is a lot of water here in this gigantic river.
Advantages
Hydroelectric power has many advantages.
No fossil fuels are burned
There is minimal pollution.
It is renewable.
Disadvantages
There isn’t a river and/or reservoir in every single city.
Reservoir construction costs a lot of money.

Should it be used more or less
I honestly think hydroelectric power should be used more.
There would be a lot less pollution.
We would have a lot more clean energy being produced.

In the space provided below write a paragraph describing the characteristics of a healthy individual. What qualities does this person have?

I think a healthy person is someone who watches what they eat. They don’t eat junk food they eat healthy food. They most likely don’t smoke, drink, or do drugs. They probably exercise daily. They’re very active and play sports. That’s the qualities that I think a health person has.

1.) My triangle does not have equal sides because the physical part of it only has 5 and the family and mental part has 6.
2.) I am strong in mental-emotional health and family-social health.
3.) I need to work on the physical part just a little more.
4.) Since I didn’t do as well in the physical part I could eat a healthy breakfast everyday since that is what I answered no to. That would balance my triangle a little better.

Define what each of the following and provide me with 3 examples of each. Health Care Provider, Health Service, Health Product, and Health Care Facility.

A health care provider is someone who helps other people and provides a health service. A health care provider could be a doctor, nurse, or orthodontist.

A health service is a job that’s provided by a health care provider. A health service could be going to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned, or going to the doctor’s to get a check-up, or going to the orthodontics to get braces on.

A health product is something given to you to maintain or restore your health. A health product could be a toothbrush, toothpaste, or medicine.

A health care facility is somewhere you go for your health. A hospital and a dentist’s office is a health care facility. A health care facility is a doctor’s office, a clinic, or a hospital.

I have 3 “No’s” in my health behavior inventory. Most of the “No’s” came from the category nutrition. I could try to improve my nutrition by evaluating food labels, following dietary guidelines, and also try to follow the guidelines when I go out to eat.
