I knew some of the people that left...and I don't blame them. It is only a website after all. If something is causing unwanted drama or angst, then cut it out...I totally understand. But then again, no one should be judged on their opinions. Trust me, I've seen some of the stuff...it's not pretty. But I feel the site as a whole is a positive thing. I just let new members know that they should contribute positively to the site and engage in meaningful, gaming related conversations and that this is just as much their site as it is the so called "veterans". Just because someone's been here long doesn't make them right...especially when they treat you like shit for having a different opinion.
